The meaning of Tawheed and its categories

Praise be to Allaah and blessings and peace be upon His Messenger and Chosen Prophet.
Tawheed in Arabic means attributing Oneness to Allaah and describing Him as being One and Unique, with no partner or peer in His Essence and Attributes.
The Arabs say waahid, ahad and waheed, all meaning one. Allaah is Waahid, meaning that He has no rivals or peers in any way. So Tawheed means knowing Allaah is One, with none like unto Him. Whoever does not acknowledge Allaah in these terms and does not describe Him as being One with no partner or associate does not believe in Tawheed.
With regard to the shar’i definition of Tawheed, it means believing in Allaah alone as God and Lord and attributing to Him alone all the attributes of Lordship and divinity.
It may be defined as follows: Believing that Allaah is One with no partner or associate in His Lordship (ruboobiyyah), divinity (uloohiyyah) or names and attributes (al-asma’ wa’l-sifaat).
This word (Tawheed) and its derivatives are used with this meaning in the Qur’aan and Sunnah. For example:
Allaah says (interpretation of the meaning):
“Say (O Muhammad): He is Allaah, (the) One [Ahad].
2. Allaah‑us‑Samad [Allaah — the Self‑Sufficient Master, Whom all creatures need, (He neither eats nor drinks)].
3. He begets not, nor was He begotten.
4. And there is none co‑equal or comparable unto Him”
[al-Ikhlaas 112:1-3]
“And your Ilaah (God) is One Ilaah [ilaahun waahidun] (God — Allaah), Laa Ilaaha illa Huwa (there is none who has the right to be worshipped but He), the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful”
[al-Baqarah 2:163]
“Surely, disbelievers are those who said: ‘Allaah is the third of the three (in a Trinity).’ But there is no Ilaah (god) (none who has the right to be worshipped) but One Ilaah [ilaahun waahidun] (God —Allaah). And if they cease not from what they say, verily, a painful torment will befall on the disbelievers among them”
[al-Maa'idah 5:73]
And there are many similar verses.
In Saheeh al-Bukhaari (7372) and Saheeh Muslim(19) it is narrated that Ibn ‘Abbaas (may Allaah be pleased with him) said: When the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) sent Mu’aadh ibn Jabal to Yemen, he said to him: “You are going to people from among the People of the Book, so let the first thing to which you call them be belief in Allaah alone (Tawheed). If they accept that, then tell them that Allaah has enjoined on them five prayers every day and night. If they pray then tell them that Allaah has enjoined on them zakaah from their wealth to be taken from their rich and given to their poor. If they agree to that then take it from them but avoid the best of people’s wealth.”
In Saheeh Muslim it is narrated from Ibn ‘Umar (may Allaah be pleased with him) that the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said: “Islam is built on five (pillars): belief that Allaah is One, establishing regular prayer, paying zakaah, fasting Ramadaan and Hajj.”
What is meant by Tawheed in all these texts is affirming the meaning of the testimony that there is no god but Allaah and that Muhammad is the Messenger of Allaah, which is the essence of the religion of Islam with which Allaah sent His Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him), based on the evidence of the words of the Qur’aan and Sunnah. In some versions of the hadeeth of Mu’aadh quoted above it says: “You will come to some people from among the People of the Book so when you come to them, call them to bear witness that there is no god except Allaah and that Muhammad is the Messenger of Allaah.” Narrated by al-Bukhaari, 1492.
According to another version of the hadeeth of Ibn ‘Umar: The Messenger of Allaah (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said: “Islam is based on five (pillars): the testimony that there is no god except Allaah and that Muhammad is His slave and Messenger...” Narrated by Muslim, 16.
This indicates that Tawheed is the essence of the testimony that there is no god except Allaah and that Muhammad is the Messenger of Allaah, and that this is Islam with which Allaah sent His Prophet to the two races of mankind and the jinn, other than which Allaah will not accept any religion from anyone.
Allaah says (interpretation of the meaning):
“Truly, the religion with Allaah is Islam”
[Aal ‘Imraan 3:19]
“And whoever seeks a religion other than Islam, it will never be accepted of him, and in the Hereafter he will be one of the losers”
[Aal ‘Imraan 3:85]
Once this is understood, it should be noted that the scholars have divided Tawheed into three categories, as follows:
Tawheed al-Ruboobiyyah (Oneness of Divine Lordship), Tawheed al-Uloohiyyah (Oneness of Divinity) and Tawheed al-Asma’ wa’l-Sifaat(Oneness of the Divine Names and Attributes).
Tawheed al-Ruboobiyyah (Oneness of Divine Lordship): means believing in Allaah as One and Unique with regard to His actions such as creation, sovereignty, control, giving life and death, and so on.
There is a great deal of evidence to support this in the Qur’aan and Sunnah. See question no.13532 to learn some of it.
Whoever believes that there is any creator other than Allaah or any sovereign controlling this universe and disposing of its affairs other than Allaah has denied this aspect of Tawheed and disbelieved in Allaah.
The kuffaar of old accepted this aspect of Tawheed in general terms, although they differed with regard to some of its details. The evidence that they used to accept this is to be found in several verses of the Qur’aan such as the following (interpretation of the meaning):
“And if you were to ask them: ‘Who has created the heavens and the earth and subjected the sun and the moon?’ they will surely reply: ‘Allaah.’ How then are they deviating (as polytheists and disbelievers)?”
[al-‘Ankaboot 29:61]
“And if you were to ask them: ‘Who sends down water (rain) from the sky, and gives life therewith to the earth after its death?’ they will surely reply: ‘Allaah.’ Say: ‘All the praises and thanks be to Allaah!’ Nay, most of them have no sense”
[al-‘Ankaboot 29:63]
“And if you ask them who created them, they will surely say: ‘Allaah.’ How then are they turned away (from the worship of Allaah Who created them)?”
[al-Zukhruf 43:87]
In these verses Allaah states that the kuffaar affirm that He is the Creator, Sovereign and Controller, but despite that they do not worship Him alone (Tawheed of worship), which points to the graveness of their wrongdoing and lies, and the weakness of their reasoning. For if there is One Who is described in such terms, none should be worshipped except Him alone and none should be described as being one and unique except Him; may He be glorified above those that they associate with him.
So whoever affirms this Tawheed in the true sense must inevitably also affirm the Oneness of Allaah’s Divinity (Tawheed al-Uloohiyyah).
Tawheed al-Uloohiyyah means devoting all acts of worship, both inward and outward, in word and deed, to Allaah Alone, and not worshipping anything or anyone other than Allaah, no matter who he is. Allaah says (interpretation of the meaning):
“And your Lord has decreed that you worship none but Him”
[al-Isra’ 17:23]
“Worship Allaah and join none with Him (in worship)”
[al-Nisa’ 4:36]
It may be described as devoting all one’s actions to Allaah alone.
It is called Tawheed al-Uloohiyyah because it is based on ta’alluh lillaah which is worship and devotion of Allaah accompanied by love and veneration.
It is also called Tawheed al-‘Ibaadah (oneness of worship) because it means that a person worships Allaah by doing that which He has commanded and avoiding that which He has forbidden.
It is also called Tawheed al-Talab wa’l-Qasd wa’l-Iraadah (Oneness of goal, purpose and will) because it means that a person does not seek anything except the Face of Allaah, so he worships Him sincerely.
This is the kind of Tawheed concerning which people went astray, which is why the Prophets were sent and the Books were revealed. This is the purpose for which the universe was created and laws were prescribed. Concerning this disputes arose between the Prophets and their peoples, so the stubborn were doomed and the believers were saved.
Whoever goes astray with regard to this Tawheed, such as devoting some of his worship to someone other than Allaah, has gone beyond the pale of Islam and drifted away from true belief. May Allaah protect us from that.
With regard to Tawheed al-Asma’ wa’l-Sifaat(Oneness of the Divine Names and Attributes), this means affirming the names and attributes of Allaah and believing that there is none like unto Allaah in His names and attributes. This Tawheed is based on two principles:
1 – Affirmation: i.e., affirming that which Allaah has affirmed for Himself in His Book or that His Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) has affirmed of His beautiful names and sublime attributes in a manner that suits the Majesty and Greatness of Allaah, without distorting them, twisting their meanings, denying their reality or discussing how they are.
2 – Denial: i.e., denying that Allaah has any faults and denying any shortcomings that He has denied Himself. The evidence for that is the words of Allaah (interpretation of the meaning):
“There is nothing like Him, and He is the All‑Hearer, the All‑Seer”
[al-Shoora 42:11]
So He has denied that He bears any resemblance to His creation, and affirmed that He has attributes of perfection in a manner that befits Him, may He be glorified.

There were only 15 minutes left before Salat-ul Isha.

There were only 15 minutes left before Salat-ul Isha.
He quickly made Wudhu and performed Salat-ul Maghrib.
While making Tasbih, he again remembered his grandmother and was embarrassed by how he had prayed.
His grandmother prayed with such tranquillity and peace.
He began making Dua and went down to make Sajdah and stayed like that for a while.
He had been at work all day and was tired, so tired.
He awoke abruptly to the sound of noise and shouting.
He was sweating profusely.
He looked around.
It was very crowded.
Every direction he looked in was filled with people.
Some stood frozen looking around, some were running left and right and some were on their knees with their heads in their hands just waiting.
Pure fear and apprehension filled him as he realized where he was.
His heart was about to burst.
It was the Day of Judgment.
When he was alive, he had heard many things about the questioning on the Day of Judgment, but that seemed so long ago.
Could this be something his mind made up?
No, the wait and the fear were so great that he could not have imagined this.
The interrogation was still going on.
He began moving frantically from people to people to ask if his name had been called.
No one could answer him.
All of a sudden his name was called and the crowd split into two and made
a passageway for him.
Two angels grabbed his arms and led him forward.
He walked with unknowing eyes through the crowd.
The angels brought him to the centre and left him there.
His head was bent down and his whole life was passing in front of his eyes like a movie.
He opened his eyes but saw only another world.
The people were all helping others.
He saw his father running from one lecture to the other, spending his wealth in the way of Islam.
His mother invited guests to their house and one table was being set while the other was being cleared.
He pleaded his case,
‘I too was always on this path.
I helped others.
I spread the word of Allah.
I performed my Salah.
I fasted in the month of Ramadhan.
Whatever Allah ordered us to do, I did.
Whatever he ordered us not to do, I did not.’
He began to cry and think about how much he loved Allah.
He knew that whatever he had done in life would be less than what Allah deserved and his only protector was Allah He was sweating like never before and was shaking all over.
His eyes were fixed on the scale, waiting for the final decision.
At last, the decision was made.
The two angels with sheets of paper in their hands, turned to the crowd.
His legs felt like they were going to collapse.
He closed his eyes as they began to read the names of those people who were to enter Jahannam.
His name was read first.
He fell on his knees and yelled that this couldn’t be, ’How could I go to Jahannam?
I served others all my life, I spread the word of Allah to others’.
His eyes had become blurry and he was shaking with sweat.
The two angels took him by the arms.
As his feet dragged, they went through the crowd and advanced toward the blazing flames of Jahannam.
He was yelling and wondered if there was any person who was going to help
him. He was yelling of all the good deeds he had done, how he had helped his father, his fasts, prayers, the Noble Qur’an that he read, he was asking if none of them would help him.
The Jahannam angels continued to drag him.
They had gotten closer to the Hellfire.
He looked back and these were his last pleas.
Had not Rasulullah [SAW] said,
‘How clean would a person be who bathes in a river five times a day, so too does the Salah performed five times cleanse someone of their sins’?
He began yelling,
‘My prayers? My prayers? My prayers.?’
The two angels did not stop, and they came to the edge of the abyss of Jahannam.
The flames of the fire were burning his face.
He looked back one last time, but his eyes were dry of hope and he had nothing left in him.
One of the angels pushed him in.
He found himself in the air and falling towards the flames.
He had just fallen five or six feet when a hand grabbed him by the arm and pulled him back.
He lifted his head and saw an old man with a long white beard.
He wiped some dust off himself and asked him,
‘Who are you?’
The old man replied,
‘I am your prayers’.
‘Why are you so late! I was almost in the Fire!
You rescued me at the last minute before I fell in’.
The old man smiled and shook his head, ’You always performed me at the last minute, did you forget?’
At that instant, he blinked and lifted his head from Sajdah.
He was in a sweat.
He listened to the voices coming from outside.
He heard the Adhan for Salat-ul Isha.
He got up quickly and went to perform Wudhu.

YOUR HEART WILL NEVER BE THE SAME AFTER READING THIS!!

"I walked up the stairs along with my daughter Nour in the poorly lit corridor. I entered the room shyly and in broken Arabic greeted all the sisters in the room. A family in this Syrian village had invited me for dinner and I looked forward to such invites. Not only because I finally got to eat well-prepared food but also because I met new sisters in such gatherings. Some of these sisters and their stories in this war-ravaged country astonished me, and some ingrained themselves in me, forever changing me.
After we had eaten, a sister brought in a frail man and gently sat him against the cushions on the wall. I was struck by the noor emanating from the sister’s face. I stared at her in wonderment of why her face lit like a bright light. The brother had a white beard humbling resting on his face and the softness of his face resembled that of a child.
She fed him soup, and he barely moving, swallowed slowly. I assumed that this must be her frail father she is taking care of, though he looked too young to be her father.
When I got home, I couldn’t forget the sister and the brother. Coincidently, I found myself at her house few weeks later as we were passing through the village. I noticed the brother again in her house.
“Umm Muhammad, who is he, the one you take care of?”
“He is my husband. He wasn’t always like that. In the 80’s my husband was part of Muslim Brotherhood, he was an active da’ee and a hafidh al Qu’ran. When Bashar’s father released his relentless force against the Muslims in Hama, my husband was arrested. I was left with three young children. For nearly a decade, I had no idea if he was alive or dead.
She continued.
"One day, he was home. Just like that. But he had been tortured severely, he was beaten ruthlessly, electrocuted, and made to endure all sorts of psychological torture during his time in detention. Even though a year after his release, I was blessed with a son- his health started deteriorating every year. And today, he has lost all normal function. He doesn’t remember his children, he doesn’t speak at all, and he can barely comprehend anything around him. So I feed, bathe and take care of him as a child”
I couldn’t believe how much this sister had borne. A decade without a husband, and now have lost her home, her wealth and are refugees on the border of the country. Though her husband is now finally with her, he is not her companion in the loss and pain this war has brought her family. He can’t help her or their children nor even comfort her.
“SubhanAllaah, sister, how did you manage all these years?”
“I chose Quran, the words of Allaah to accompany me. I read Quran every single day, each day increasing in the amount I read. I found a teacher to teach me tajweed. And subhanAllah by the time my husband was released, I had memorised the whole Quraan and had raised our three children in his absence”
She got up to head for the kitchen and prepare the afternoon meal. I heard her reciting Quraan the entire time. She brought a tray of rice and soup. After we ate, I asked her more questions about her life.
“My 16 year old was shaheed few months ago. The son that was born after my husband’s release”
She said this with a smile and you could not find misery in any corner of her eyes.
“Would you like to see what happened to him? They caught it on video”
She pulled a laptop and searched his name on YouTube. She showed me the picture she took of him on the day he went out for the protest. In the video a young masked man is seen dragging an injured man on the street. But as soon as he brings the man to safety, he is shot and falls flat on the pavement. Her son was killed saving another. As this mother watched the video of her son getting shot, she did not wince, nor tear up. Rather she smiled, as if watching the moment she was given an award.
“Does your husband understand that his son is now killed?”
“No, he has no understanding. I buried my son and sat in his grave and asked Allaah to remove all grief in my heart and He did.”
This is why this mother’s face endeared me to her. Her patience, her tawakkul in Allaah, her love for the Quraan and her struggle and sacrifice in the path of Allah was inspiring.
“There is one time though, my husband does speak”
“Oh, when is that?”
“I recite all day, reviewing a juz or two a day. No matter where in the house, I am reciting- if I make a mistake, he speaks up and corrects it.”
I felt hair on my arms stand up in amazement of their faith. These are the sisters in war that we do not hear of. We hear of misery and pain but we rarely hear of the sisters who are backbone of resistance, who are an inspiration not just to other women but to the men in their path."

the clever decision of a youth on how to live life.

This story is only an example.

There was a country long time ago where the people would change a king every year. The person who would become the king had to agree to a contract that he will be sent to an island after his one year of being a king. So, one king finished his term and it was time for him to go to the island and live there. The people dressed him up in expensive clothes and put him on an elephant and took him around the cities to say goodbye to all the people. This was the moment of sadness for all the kings who ruled for one year. After saying goodbye, the people took the king with a boat to the remote island and left him there. On their way back, they discovered a ship that had sunk just recently. They saw a young man who survived by holding on to a floating piece of wood. As they needed a new king, they picked up the young man and took him to their country. They requested him to be a king for a year. First he refused but later he agreed to be a king. People told him about all the rules and regulations and that how he will be sent to an island after one year.

After three days of being a king, he asked the ministers if they could show him the island where all the other kings were sent. They agreed and took him to the island. The island was covered with thick jungles and sound of vicious animals were heard coming out of them. The king went little bit inside to see how it was and discovered the dead bodies of all the past kings. He understood that as soon as they were left in the island, the animals came and killed them. The king then went back to the country and requested the people to provide him with 100 strong workers. He was provided with 100 workers and he took them to the island and told them to remove all the deadly animals and to cut down all the trees. He would visit the island every month to see how the work is progressing. In the first month, all the animals were removed and many trees were cut down. In the second month, the whole island was cleaned out. The king then told the workers to plant gardens in various parts of the island. He also took with himself useful animals like chickens, ducks, birds, goats, cows etc. In the third month, he ordered the workers to build big houses and docking stations for ships. Over the months, the island turned into a beautiful place. The young king would wear simple clothes and spend very little from his earnings. He sent all the earnings to the island for storage. Nine months have passed like this. The king called the people and told them that "I know that I have to go the island after one year, but I would like to go there right now." But the people didn't agree to this and said that he have to wait for another 3 months to complete the year.

3 months passed and now it was a full year. The people dressed up the young king and put him on an elephant to take him around the country to say goodbye to others. However, this king is unusually happy to leave the kingdom. People asked him, "All the other kings would cry at this moment and why are you laughing?" He replied, "Don't you know what the wise people say? They say that when you came to this world as a baby, you were crying and everyone was smiling. Live such a life that when you are dieing, you will be smiling and everyone around you will be crying. I have lived that life. While all the other kings were lost into the luxuries of the kingdom, I always thought about the future and planned for it. I turned the deadly island into a beautiful abode for me where I can stay peacefullly."

We should take a lesson from this story about how we should also live our life. The life of this world is to prepare for the life hereafter. In this life, we shouldn't get lost into the beautiful things of this world and forget about what is to come in the afterlife. Rather, even if we are kings, we should live a simple life like our beloved Prophet Muhammad (SAW) and save all our enjoyments for the hereafter. May Allah make it easy .

A must read story of the not so prominent 'ugly' Sahabee – Julay’bib رضي الله عنهم.

It is narrated in the Books of History that Julay’bib رضي الله عنهم was a Sahabee who was:

• short in height
• deformed in appearance
• his lineage was not known
• no one knew who his parents had been
• with no clan to protect him
• no tribe willing to accept him as their own
• he cut a lonely figure even the small children of Madinah would tease & mock him
• owing to his disabilities no one would allow him to sit in their company.

He survived as best he could, many a lonely night in Madinah he spent wondering the streets in despair, tears of desperation would run down his cheeks, there was no one willing to offer him love or compassion, he had no family & not a single friend in the world.

Life for him was a lonely struggle.

After the arrival of the Prophet of Allah ﷺ to Madinah, the fortunes of Julay’beeb رضي الله عنهم changed.

He would go & sit in the company of the Prophet ﷺ & listen intently, rarely speaking; he would out of shyness keep his gaze lowered.

He now, had the best of friends in the Prophet of Allah ﷺ; those days of loneliness & despair were over for the Best of creation ﷺ had arrived.

Julay’bib رضي الله عنهم was now a part of community of believers.

One day as he was sitting in the Company of the Prophet ﷺ, The Messenger of Allah ﷺ asked him: "O Julay’bib رضي الله عنهم ask for something, is there anything you desire."

He raised his head slowly & said in a shy voice;

"O Messenger of Allah ﷺ, Allah has blessed me with your companionship, I get to sit at your blessed feet and hear your blessed words, what more could I desire".

The Prophet of Allah ﷺ asked: "How would you like to get married my dear Julay’bib رضي الله عنهم,” He smiled shyly wondering who would want to marry him.

"Yes messenger of Allah ﷺ I would like that."

The Prophet of Allah ﷺ went to the house of a prominent & noble Sahabee from amongst the Ansar.
He said "I have come to ask for your daughters hand in marriage".

The Sahabee was overjoyed he said: "O Messenger of Allah ﷺ what could be a greater blessing than this."

The Prophet ﷺ said: "I do not ask of her for myself It is for Julay’bib رضي الله عنهم that I am asking."

The Sahabee was left stunned: "For Julay’bib?” he asked in bewilderment. "Yes for Julay’bib رضي الله عنهم" replied The Messenger of Allah ﷺ.

He said: "Let me consult with my wife." He went & told her. "The Prophet of Allah ﷺ has asked for your daughters hand in marriage, for Julay’bib رضي الله عنهم."

She started crying and wailing: "No not Julay’bib anyone but Julay’beeb رضي الله عنهم I will never allow this."

Upon hearing the commotion the daughter arrived.

It is said that she was so beautiful that there was none among the women of the Ansar who could compete with her looks.

She was so shy & modest that perhaps the sky itself had never seen her head uncovered.

She had so much taqwa that she would spend her days & nights in worship.

The daughter asked what was happening; she was told that the Prophet of Allah ﷺ wants your hand in marriage for Julay’bib رضي الله عنهم.

As the Mother continued her crying & wailing the daughter spoke she said: "O my Mother fear Allah think of what you are saying are you turning away the Prophet of Allah ﷺ.
'O my Mother it does not suit a believer to make their own decision once Allah & his Messenger ﷺ have decided on a matter.
Do you think that the Prophet of Allah ﷺ will disgrace us?

How blessed is the status of Julay’bib رضي الله عنهم, that Allah & his Messenger ﷺ are asking for your daughters hand on his behalf.

Don't you know that the angels themselves envy the dust on the feet of one who is a beloved of Allah & his Prophet ﷺ.

Ask the Prophet ﷺ to send me Julay’bib for there is no greater privilege than for me to be blessed by such a husband, Prophet of Allah ﷺ has arrived with such a wonderful gift yet my Mother you cry & wail."

The Mothers heart being filled with remorse said: "Stop my daughter don't say another word indeed I have erred I repent & I repent a 1,000 times over for as of this moment there is no one who I would prefer for you than Julay’bib رضي الله عنهم."

The following day the Nikaah is made.

Uthman رضي الله عنهم & Ali رضي الله عنهم present Julay’bib a gift of money to help arrange the feast of Walimah, & to purchase accommodation.

A short time later on an expedition Julay’bib رضي الله عنهم was martyred.

On the day of the expedition his Father in law, had pleaded with him: "'O Julay’bib رضي الله عنهم this is just an expedition, it is not a compulsory Jihad, it is Fardh-e-Kifayah it is a voluntary Jihad, and therefore you are newly married spend some time with your wife."

Julay’bib رضي الله عنهم, the one who had spent a lifetime in despair had now found a loving wife.
But listen to his response to the Father in laws request He said "'O my father you say a strange thing, my Beloved Prophet ﷺ is in the battlefield facing the enemies of Islam & you want me to sit at home with my wife, nay I will sacrifice my blood & my soul rather than see my Prophet ﷺ facing hardship while I sit at home in luxury".

The diminutive Julay’bib رضي الله عنهم was indeed a strange sight carrying a sword almost the same size as him.

The Sahaba stared in wonderment at him the sweet & gentle Julay’bib رضي الله عنهم was transformed in to a Lion.

"Who dare wage war upon my Prophet ﷺ?”

He said as he charged into the ranks of the enemy.

After that battle the Prophet of Allah ﷺ, asked the Sahaba to go & to see if anyone was missing from their families & clans.

Each one returned accounting for all his family members.

Then the Prophet ﷺ spoke with tears in his eyes he said:

"But I have lost my Beloved Julay’bib رضي الله عنهم go & find him."

They found his diminutive body lying next to 7 Kuffar he had slain in the battle.

The Prophet of Allah ﷺ asked for a grave to be dug, as the Prophet of Allah ﷺ held the body of Julay’bib رضي الله عنهم he said. "O' Allah he is from me and I am From Him", he repeated this 3 times.

The companions wept profusely "May our Mothers & Fathers be sacrificed for you O' Julay’bib رضي الله عنهم, how great is your status."

Thus a Sahabee who had once lived as an outcast, shunned by the society around him.
He loved Allah & his Messenger ﷺ and reached such a high status.

He who was not good looking but was blessed with a beautiful wife, he who was poor but was blessed by a wealthy wife, he who had no family or status, was blessed by a wife with noble status and lineage. He who had lived in loneliness and despair, was loved by Allah & his Messenger ﷺ.

He had the Messenger of Allah ﷺ say: "O Allah he is from me and I am from him."

It is said: "That upon his martyrdom, that the sky itself was filled with thousands of angels who had come to participate in his Janazah”.

Julay’bib رضي الله عنهم 'The Lonesome one' had become a beloved of Allah, & his Prophet ﷺ, he was lonely no more.

Such is the status of the lovers of the Prophet ﷺ.

As for his wife it is said that there was no widow whose hand was more sought after in marriage than hers.

[Saheeh Muslim Book 031, Hadith Number 6045]

His Love for his Ummah

The Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) had an immense amount of love for his Ummah. Allah (swt) says in the Quran, 'There has come to you a messenger from amongst you, he finds it difficult to bear your hardships. He is ever eager for you and to the believers he is kind and merciful.' Quran [9:128].

Once the Prophet was reciting the Quran and he came across a number of verses. Of them is the famous verse where Prophet Ibrahim (A) is making Dua for his people,
'So whoever follows me – then he is of me; and whoever disobeys me – indeed, You are [yet] Forgiving and Merciful.' Quran [14:36].

Here Prophet Ibrahim (A) is asking Allah (swt) to forgive those who are not listening to him.Afterwards, the Prophet Muhammad recites another verse where Prophet Isa (A) is making supplication for his people.

'If You should punish them – indeed they are Your servants; but if You forgive them – indeed it is You who is the Exalted in Might, the Wise.'Quran [5:118].

In both of these supplications, Prophet Ibrahim (A) and Prophet Isa (A) is asking for mercy and forgiveness for their own people. He, the Prophet Muhammad(PBUH) starts thinking about his own people and what will be their fate. He raises his hand and starts saying, 'Allahumma Ummati, Allahumma Ummati – O Allah my Ummah, O Allah my Ummah.'He then begins to cry thinking about this Ummah, about us.

Allah (swt) at this point, told Jibreel to go to the Prophet and ask him why is he crying (of course Allah knew why). So Jibreel came and asked the Prophet, the Prophet replied,'I am crying thinking for my Ummah, thinking of what will be their fate.' So Jibreel went back and Allah (swt) said to him, 'O Jibreel, go back to Muhammad and tell him, we are going to please you for your Ummah. And we are not going to cause you any irritation.' [Sahih Muslim]

In other words, because of you O Messenger of Allah, that you want your Ummah to be blessed so much, we are going to please you and not cause you any irritation.Let us have a genuine love for our beloved Prophet (PBUH). Let us understand the sacrifices he made for us. Let us understand what a great personality he was. Let us study his life so that we can implement and follow his teachings and come closer to Allah (swt).

Allah says in the Quran, 'Say, [O Muhammad], “If you should love Allah , then follow me, [so] Allah will love you and forgive you your sins. And Allah is Forgiving and Merciful.” ' Quran [3:31].

May Allah (swt) make us among those who truly follow the Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) and may Allah forgive our sins. Allahumma Ameen

Hajj Story !!very touching!!

Sa’eed was sitting at the waiting area at the Jeddah airport after having completed the rites of hajj, and next to him was another person who completed his hajj.
The man next to him said:
"I work as a contractor and Allah (swt) has blessed me with performing my tenth hajj.
Sa’eed told him:
" hajj mabroor, may Allah accept and forgive you your sins.
The man smiled and said: ameen.
Then he asked him: have you performed hajj before this time?
Sa’eed was hesitating to tell him, and then he said:
"by Allah, it’s a long story and I don’t want to hurt your head with my talk.
The man laughed and said:
"Please tell me, as you see we have nothing to do, we’re just waiting.
Sa’eed smile and said: yes, waiting is the start of my story.
"I’ve been waiting years so that I can go to hajj.
After working for thirty years as a physiotherapist in a private hospital, I was able to save enough money to go for hajj.
The same day I went to get my salary, I came across one of the mother’s who’s paralyzed son I treat.
I could see her face was worried and anxious.
She said:
"I leave you to Allah’s keeping, brother Sa’eed this is our last visit to this hospital.
I was surprised with her words and I thought she wasn’t happy with my treatment, and that she was considered moving her son to another hospital.
She told me:
"no brother Sa’eed, Allah bears witness that you were to my son like a father, and you helped him in his treatment when we had lost hope.
- Then she left very saddened.
The man next to him interrupted and said:
"that’s strange, if she was pleased with your treatment and her son was improving then why did she leave?
Sa’eed answered:
"that’s what I thought too, so I went to the administration to find out what happened.
They told me the boy’s father had lost his job and was unable to continue paying for his son’s treatment.
The man next to him said:
"there is no might and power except with Allah, poor them, how did you deal with it?
Sa’eed said:
- I went to the manager and pleaded with him to continue treating the boy on the hospital’s expense, but he sharply rejected and said, ‘this is a private institution not a charity’.
- I left his office sad and broken for this family.
- Then suddenly, I placed my hands in my pocked which had my money all prepared for hajj.
I stood in my place for a while, then I raised my head above and spoke to my Rabb:
O Allah, You know how I feel and You know there is nothing more beloved to me than to go to Your house and do hajj, and to visit Your messenger’s masjid.
You know I have been working all my life for this moment, but I prefer this poor lady and her son over myself, so don’t deprive me of Your favors.
- I went to the accounts desk and paid all I had for his treatment which covered the next six months.
- I begged the accountant to tell the lady that it’s from the hospital expense for special cases.
He was affected by this and there were tears in his eyes and said, ‘baarak Allah feek and people like you’
The man next to him then said:
"if you donated all of your money, then how did you go to hajj?
Sa’eed said:
" I went back to my home sad that day for having lost the opportunity of a lifetime for hajj.
But my heart was filled with happiness that I removed a distress from the lady and her son.
- I slept that night with a tear on my cheek.
- I had a dream and I was making tawaf around the ka’aba and people were saying salam to me and they told me:
#‘hajj mabroor O Sa’eed, for you have performed hajj in the heavens before you performed hajj on earth’.
- I immediately woke up and felt an indescribable happiness.
- I praised Allah (swt) for everything and was pleased with His decree.
When I got up from my sleep, my phone rang and it was the hospital’s manager.
He told me the owner of the hospital wants to go to hajj this year and he won’t go without his personal therapist.
But his therapist’s wife is expecting and has reached her final days of pregnancy so he can’t leave her.
- Would you do me favor?
- Would you accompany him in his hajj?
I made sujood shukr to Allah (swt). And as you see, Allah (swt) granted me to go to His house without having to pay anything.
And all praise to Allah, the owner of the hospital insisted on giving me something for his accompaniment.
I told him the story of the lady and her son, and he demanded the boy be treated at the hospital from his own personal expense.
- And to place a donations box in the hospital for the treatment of needy patients.
- And on top of that, he gave the boy’s father a job at one of his companies.
He even returned the money I had initially spent for the boy’s treatment.
Have you seen great favors than the favors of my Rabb? Subhan Allah.
The man next to him hugged him and told him: by Allah I have never felt this kind of shyness as I’m feeling now.
I would perform hajj one year after another thinking I was doing something great, and that my place with Allah would be elevated as a result of it.
But now I understood that your hajj is equivalent to a thousand of mine.
I went to the house of Allah, but Allah invited you to His house.
May Allah accept your hajj.
Always think good about Allah (swt) and know He is able to do all things.
We ask Allah to forgive us and humble us in everything we do. Aameen

The story of a Sheikh who prayed without doing Wudhu

Abdallah was assigned to supervise a Sheikh of the Masjid in his area.

This Sheikh was a scholar with a lot of knowledge, and had the looks of a righteous man, and was respected by everyone.

One day the Sheikh came to the Masjid just before the prayer time and went into the bathroom, while Abdallah went to do Wudhu.

Abdallah finished doing Wudhu and went to drink water from the fridge next to the bathroom door.

When the Muadheen finished the Adhan, the Sheikh came out quickly looking at his right and left and did not see anyone.

So he washed his hands and wiped his face with water and went into the Masjid without doing Wudhu.

Abdallah was watching and was shocked how the Sheikh entered the Masjid to perform the prayers without Wudhu.

He was unable to sleep that night thinking how he was deceived by this Sheikh, who was pretending all these months to be a righteous man
.
He does not accept people to talk bad about others.

He urges people to straighten and not to do sin and calls them to repentance.

It looks like all this time he was acting.

The next day Abdallah went to his old friend, the officer of the area and told him everything that had happened.

The officer hit his hand and said, "Oh, what a calamity, I have been praying behind this Sheikh for 8 months, and he appears to be a liar and enters the Masjid without Wudhu."

The officer thanked Abdallah and told him to silence the matter and not to tell anyone, and he will follow up the matter.

After telling his colleagues and their advisors, they decided to remove the Sheikh and put him under surveillance.

After which Abdallah was honored for his attention and keenness.

The Sheikh was removed, which made him to leave the city and go to his old city.

Years later Abdallah got a skin disease in his thigh, and the doctor told him that he should change the dressing whenever pus comes out of the inflammation so that the condition does not worsen.

One day he entered the Masjid and had the pus in his wound, he had to change the dressing and went into the bathroom to replace the dressing.

When he finished, he went out quickly to catch up with the congregational prayer.

He stood in front of the water faucet and wanted to renew his Wudhu.

He remembered that he did not break his Wudhu and if he do Wudhu again, he would delay his prayer.
So he washed his hands and wiped his face and went to the Masjid.

Here he remembered the scene he saw 10 years ago and said: "O Allah, was I unfair to the Sheikh?"
He rushed to the officer of the area, and asked him for the Sheikh's address and after a long search he found the address.

He went the next day, and after a search and trouble, he found the house of the Sheikh.

He knocked the door and an old woman came out and he greeted her Assalam Aleikum.

Then he asked her: "Is this the house of the Sheikh?"

The old woman asked: "Are you his friend?"

He said: "Yes I am his friend."

She said to him: "Welcome."

In the yard of the house, he saw a young man with a disability sitting on a wheelchair and wearing ragged clothes.

When he sat down, he asked: "Where is the Sheikh?"

She told him that the Sheikh died 8 years ago because of the worsening of the skin disease, and that he did not have money.

His wife also died years later due to pneumonia and left this disabled child with her.

Abdallah slapped his face and exploded in tears at what he had done to the Sheikh and his family.

So was the story.Very emotional.Do not judge what you see quickly.
